EPFO ( Employees Provident Fund ) is sending demand notices regarding EPS dues to those who are eligible for higher pension. It indicates how much EPS dues should be paid. But, many people are not clear about how much pension they will get for the money they are paying. If they know how much pension they will get, they are waiting to take a decision.
On the other hand, if the option is given within three months of receiving the demand notice from EPFO and the dues are not paid, the opportunity of higher pension will be lost. Demand notices have already been received for 81 thousand RTC employees in AP and Telangana. Out of that 30 thousand people have agreed for higher pension. But how much pension will they get? Those who were in doubt as to whether it would be beneficial remained confused without giving the option. It is known that 12,700 people have applied for higher pension within the Hyderabad EPFO region. Notices have already been issued to some of them. But, it seems that many people are giving up the opportunity of higher pension without saying the agreement because they do not know the pension calculations. However, all such people now have a better chance. EPFO has now made available an online calculator.
How to know?
- Those who have applied for higher pension can check their status on the EPFO member portal.
- After selecting this option enter Application Number or UAN Number or PPO Number. Aadhaar OTP should be taken. Application status will be known after entering this OTP.
- What is the status of higher pension application, demand notice received? Whether it is still pending can be known.
- There is an online calculator under the application status. However, this calculator will only work for those who have been issued a demand notice.
- After opening this calculator, the employee has to enter the date of birth, date of joining EPF subscription service and date of retirement from the job.
- In that salary should be entered before September 1, 2014 i.e. by August 31. Then the last five years salary average as on the date of retirement should be entered. According to these details you can know how much pension you will get.
